The PosiPen by DeFelsko is a simple, easy-to-use instrument for measuring non-magnetic coatings such as paint, enamel, plating, and hot-dip galvanizing on steel. Its convenient form factor is similar to a ballpoint pen. The PosiPen has a very small, unique magnet which can be placed with pin-point accuracy on extremely small parts, and on peaks and in valleys. In many cases, the compact design of the PosiPen enables it to measure where no other handheld instrument, mechanical or electronic, can accurately measure. The PosiPen is also ideal for supervisors or inspectors who desire a quick spot check without the size, cost, or complexity of a more advanced electronic instrument. The PosiPen is easy to use- simply place the tip of the PosiPen on the coated surface and allow the magnet to make contact. Pull the PosiPen straight from the object to be measured while keeping close watch on the appropriate indicator. Note the reading when the magnet releases. The PosiPen features scales in imperial and metric units on opposite sides of the instrument for use with any specification. Each PosiPen comes complete with leather pouch (with belt clip), instructions, Long Form Certificate of Calibration traceable to PTB.
